Performances
The Algorithm of Oz
Performed at the Engine Room on 20 June 2026
This was the first performance of Forge Youth Theatre incorporating all three ensemble groups, Embers, Kindling and Flame. The script was written and developed by the different ensembles, both onstage and off stage, contributing dialogue, characters, costumes and the overall story of the play.
When Dorothy is pulled into a digital storm, she awakens in a world run by mysterious algorithms and glitching systems. To find her way home, she must unlock the truth hidden deep within the Emerald Network. But with friendships tested, data corrupted and the System Core watching her every move… can Dorothy rewrite the code?
The development and presentation of ‘The Algorithm of Oz’ was supported by the City of Greater Bendigo through the SPROUT Arts Grants Program. We are grateful for this support in helping provide creative opportunities for young people in our community.
